When a blog is first created, a selection of our most favourite widgets are set up for you automatically.
Your blog homepage is made up of a number of components we call widgets. A widget is a nugget of code we have written for you, that uses data input by you into your blog, to display on your blog. Each widget is customisable to some level by you the owner. There are a large number of these widgets prebuilt for you, and if you find what you are looking for is not there, you can suggest it, email it or build it yourself using the basic HTML widget.
To control your home page, you must log into your blog administration and go to the widget section.
You should see the widgets laid out colourfully in a drag and drop environment. In the larger of the panels, we call the main pane, you will see the widget called latest entries. Click the edit icon
to view this widgets customisable options.
Using these settings you can choose how many posts you want to appear, whether you'd like the full post or summary, or just the title. You can choose some default fields such as tags, categories, dates, author. You can decide the order of the entries (commonly newest first) and more...
When you are finished, save to apply the changes. Thats it!
